Petaqua is a 100% Portuguese company whose activity is focused on the environment, recycling and transformation of animal waste into sustainable proteins and fat, which are consequently reintroduced into the chain, thus removing potentially contaminating materials from the environment, promoting the circular economy and reducing environmental impacts.

Headquartered in Santarém, we are a company owned by three agro-industrial groups specializing in animal protein, which share the same willingness to deepen the value chain and sustainability by offering a global, professional, safe and sustainable response.

Petaqua seeks the best solutions for the transformation and valorization of animal by-products. By focusing on offering an adequate response to society’s needs, we transform meat waste into high-quality protein and fat that can be used in several sectors as petfood and animal compound feed production, aquaculture nutrition, fertilizers and biofuel.

Petaqua is a company which is committed to sustainability and intends to recycle animal by-products removing potentially contaminating materials from the environment, thus contributing to reduce plant-based sources dependency which, in turn, increases the demand for arable land, and non-renewable energy sources.

Our vertically integrated business model reduces the risk of contamination, and ensures the consistency and uniformity of finished products, shortening the processing time, guaranteeing quality through all process and promoting a more environmentally friendly operation by reducing carbon emissions associated with the transport.
